Department of Community Safety and Transport Management embark on a capacity building on tendering and procurement of 100 Youth Entrepreneurs in North West

The department of community safety and transport management under special programme and supply chain management directorates will embark on a full one day entrepreneurship training for 100 youth. This is an outreach program on the procurement /tendering processes within the department. The majority of our youth who are self-employed are trying very hard to venture into business with the public sector as a way of making a living due to high rate of unemployment that has escalated to 27.6% this year in our country.

Both the National Development Plan: Vision 2030 and National Youth Policy had correctly identified education, skills development and support for entrepreneurship as key strategies for youth development. Hence, our youth need to take business serious and grab all opportunities that are made available by government with both hands.

Young people bear the brunt of unemployment hence the department jointly with stakeholders such as Transport Education Training Authority (TETA), National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) and Independent Development Trust (IDT) will be engaging youth of the North West to participate in the upcoming entrepreneurs training to encourage economically active population in order for our economy to grow.

The youth will be trained as the department has noted with great concern that most of the youth are not fully capacitated on procumbent, tendering processes and policies within government.

The training will be conducted in all the four districts of our Province under the theme ‘’Creating innovative thinkers in the 4IR era’’

Media is therefore invited to cover the youth entrepreneurs training that will be scheduled as follows:

Date: 18 September 2019
Time: 08:30
